Is the title of my first project on my new course at uni, and of course a word to begin to introduce myself...
My name is Rae, I've just started in the second year of a Photography Degree at Sheffield Hallam, and two weeks in I'm feeling confident this is where I should be. After doing two years on Fine Art at Leeds Metropolitan and feeling absolutely terrible, knowing it wasn't right for me but fearing doing anything about it, I am now much MUCH happier.
I have been working at Levi's in Leeds full time, up until two weeks ago, which I love. It has it's downfalls, as does every job, but for a sales job it's pretty fun (mainly because of all the lovely people I work with). I'm still working there at weekends, which means living in Leeds half the week, but as I originally come from Sheffield, I live here the other half. A bit of variety, if not a little chaotic!
So to briefly describe what I've been up to recently....
I completed my 'Hello' project, of which I had to create a photographic representation of this word. I elaborated on the definition, 'to attract attention', and came up with this:
I am pleased with the idea and layout, but not so much the quality. When enlarged, it's very pixelated, so probably had it on the wrong ISO. Need to improve my digital skills, I'm more used to using analogue. I presented it in my discussion group last week, and overall got a positive response, so a good start to the new academic year!
I also went to Alton Towers with my boyfriend, Calum. A little treat just before going back. Got in for £10 each too....i do love a bargain <3
And last but definately not least....
His name is Thomas and he is a little terror... Calum's amazing new kitten. He likes to kiss, cuddle, watch the Simpsons, scratch and most of all bite!
